Ceilidh
On Friday 21 March Fergie Macdonald well known ceilidh band will be playing at
Durness Village Hall. Fergie was the first act performing at the acclaimed
Northern Lights Festival held last September in Durness and the three-day event,
held in memory of John Lennon and his visits with his cousin Stan Parkes as a
child, was voted the best new festival in the UK. This evening event from 8 -12
pm is to celebrate the award and everyone is invited to attend. There is no
charge and those attending will be welcomed with a free drink a light buffet
will be served
Coca Mountain
Congratulations to local Chocolate makers at Coca Mountain. Visit Scotland has
recently undertaken research with tourists to the area and Cocoa Mountain has
been recommended as being a great place to visit. They are the only place that
has been suggested to visit on the entire north coast and the down west coast as
far as Ullapool. Details are at www.visitscotland.com/cafedays. Coca Mountain
are planning to have their new premises open for this season, which will provide
greatly increased seating area and expanded range of delicious food and drink
will be available.
