Tourist Information Centre

Recently a study was carried out to suggest ways of refurbishing and updating the Visitor Centre, particularly in light of the Geopark status this area now has. The Final report funded by Scottish Natural heritage and Carried out by Rowantree Consulting is available for viewing in hard copy at the shops and service point in Durness. Support for the next stage is being sought by way of petition and people living in the parish are being asked to sign. The details are available at the local shops.

Christmas play

DVD of the Christmas play Little red riding hood is available through the school. Anyone wishing a copy should contact Caroline McCowan at the school. All proceed as for school funds.

Cape Wrath Challenge

Organisation is underway for the 2008Challenge. Local business is being asked to give a small sponsorship towards costs and in return will be included in the advertising booklet. Anyone wishing to be included should contact Yvonne or Ronnie as soon as possible. It was with some sadness that the group learned of the recent death by car accident of Anne Copeland and her children, regular visitors to the Challenge. A sympathy card has been sent to Barry from all involved. There will be a meeting of the Challenge group on the 28 January 7.30 in the Hall.
