Durness Local News
25th May
2007
On Friday
18th May, world famous writer Alan Bleasdale ran a workshop at Loch Croispol
Bookshop, Restaurant & Gallery, Balnakeil, Durness.
Alan Bleasdale, whose writing credits include "The Boys Of the Blackstuff" and "GBH",
made some constructive comments about the work of local writers. The packed
audience heard him speak about his upbringing in Liverpool, how he became a
writer, and some advice for those who do write. Afterwards, he answered
questions and took part in some interesting discussions with the audience.
Alan had given his services free of charge, and Loch Croispol provided a buffet
and drinks at no cost. Instead people were asked to make a donation towards
Kinlochbervie High School's Minibus Appeal. A total of £90 was raised towards
this cause.
