Hall Geothermal

HIE have awarded grant funds towards the cost of the installation of a geothermal heating system at the village hall. The present oil fired boiler will be replaced with a heat exchanger unit connected to underground pipe work. The under floor central heating will remain with the new system connected. It is expected that the running costs of the facility will be dramatically reduced.

Cape Wrath

The community Council sub group set up to start working with the operators of the Cape Wrath Excursions and those with an interest in improving the visit to the area mat with repetitive of the MOD last week. Provisional discussions about access to water to provide facilities with engineering experts revealed that although water is plentiful storage and assurance of quality could prove expensive.

ABBA

ABBA tribute band played at Durness Hall last week. About 220 people from around the north attended. The event was organised to raise funds for the Kinlochbervie football club.
