Picture Attached Children of Durness Primary participate in UNICEF’s Day for change

On Thursday 9 last week the children of the primary school joined schools across the country as they participated in UNICEF’s Day for change to raise funds for health and immunisation programmes in Madagascar and Niger. It was a day when the pupils were allowed to wear fancy dress. Staff and pupils joined in the spirit of the occasion. 2006 was UNICEF UK’s 18th annual Day for Change, a fun and educational fundraising event when pupils make a small donation to wear or do something different for the day. This year 2,917 schools took part in the event which in 2005 raised £327,000 for food and nutrition programmes in Ethiopia and Tajikistan
