Friday

Dinner with  local produce buffet and music from Durness musicians Marty John and Donnie

The 3 course Buffet dinner with  local produce will be on the Friday evening On arrival guests will have the option of a malt whisky or a sherry  There will be a variety of starters followed by lobster crab prawns and mussels salmon mackerel char and pickled herring lamb venison beef and potted meat Fresh garden vegetables cheese and vegetarian choices Local baking including beremeal bannocks oatcakes bread and shortbread A wide range of sauces sweets including cranchan trifle and fruit salad meringues and ice cream complimented by a glass of country made wine

The Friday is  for all lovers of good quality food Some of the best food produced in the north west corner of Scotland is never tasted locally Supplied directly and fresh imaginatively and skilfully prepared and presented  we would like to share with you this Scottish produce and a distinctive flavour of the area The evening will continue with a reeling Ceilidh for lovers of music and dance from local musicians

We are especially grateful to the army of helpers without whom this event would not be possible

This licensed event promises to be refreshing and energetic with highland hospitality at its best There is some of the best quality food from the north All the food is prepared by local volunteers and the dishes represent outstanding recipes from fresh local produce

Dochas the Celtic band

Dochas have taken the traditional music scene by storm The five girls from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland exude professionalism and rare talent throughout their performances of traditional music and song They play fiddle accordion pipes whistles clàrsach, piano and guitar and are masterful on these instruments This is complemented by powerful and poignant Gaelic Singing

The success of the band led them to be nominated as Best Necomers 2003 at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards Dochas is one of the great feel good sounds of contemporary traditional music The girls have combined undoubted talent and great attitude to create one of the most promising bands of recent years
